IDEA

The Institute for Development and Leadership in Africa (IDEA), (formerly Institute of Democracy and Leadership in Africa), is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) registered in Kenya since the year 2000 as a Think Tank and Capacity- Building institution. The Institute is more commonly referred to by its shorter name: IDEA for Africa and is a member of the African Union’s Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). The IDEA for Africa routinely provides platforms for dialogue and debate on various topical issues of interest to the African continent. Over the years, IDEA has collaborated with various partners and stakeholders; including governments in order to advance various issues of public interest in Africa.

Our Mision

Engage and work with various stakeholder constituencies, within and without the continent of Africa, in order to advance the holistic goal of Sustainable Development; Collaborate and network with governments, local, regional and international Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO’s ); Media and other Non- State Actors (NSAs), in enhancing local level knowledges and awareness creation on the urgent issues of the day.

Statement

The Institute for Development and Leadership in Africa ( IDEA) as an institution and a Think Tank organisation provides forums, enabling environment ,a venues, forums and opportunities to Interrogate, Question, gain Practical knowledge and Information neccessary to enhance leadership tenets in various areas and sectors of development.

Leadership is an integral component on growth thus requires attention and intervention always to ensure that the society , the people in charge and incontrol are equipped and kept in constant check and that partners are happy, contented satisfied with ppl progress made when Evaluations are conduct to access Where we are going, where we Are and where we Came from in relation to our growth, prospects,failures and successes.

IDEA provides practical approaches and possible solutions neccessary to tackle issues and challenges affecting the well being of people in a just society.

IDEA identifies and will continue to identify and to reach out to other like minded partners,friends, teamplayers and colleagues to work with to enable it to achieve and realise it's intended goals and set out objectives.
