At the Pavilion, PaRD Africa Voice organized a panel discussion on: Localization of Faith Action for Human Security in the Face of Climate Change: An African Perspective. The discussants included Mr. Khushwant Singh the Head of the Secretariat of PaRD International, Rev.Dr. Lesmore Gabriel Ezekiel of All African Council of Churches(AACC), Mr. Denise Kodhe- former Presiding Officer(President) of the African Union Economic Social and Cultural Council (AU ECOSOCC) and currently the Director General of the Institute for Development and Leadership in Africa (IDEA), Ms. Karimi Kinoti a Climate Justice Expert and Mr.Imam Shefiu Abdulkareem- Founder and Co- Executive Director of Strength in Diversity Development Centre in Nigeria. The session was moderated by Dr.Dinah Ewuradjoa Ogara a Climate Change Expert and the Coordinator of PaRD Africa Voice assisted by Mr. Evans Nyesi.

The workshop held at the UN Complex in Addis Ababa was organized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA). The Director General of the Institute for Development and Leadership in Africa Mr.Denise A.O.Kodhe who is also the immediate past Presiding Officer (President in French) of the African Union Economic Social and Cultural Council (AU ECOSOCC), represented IDEA at the Expert Group Meeting on the Validation of the report on the State of Urbanization in Africa. The forum was attended by Scholars and Experts in Urbanization Planning and Climate Change from Africa and other nations across the World.

The Academy located at NoonKopir in Kitengela,Kajiado County is a private institution supporting orphans and other less fortunate children in the area. Currently it has a total of 250 pupils and is seeking support from well wishers to enable it to provide quality education to the needy children.

IDEA is a founding Member of the PaRD Africa Voice an affiliate of PaRD which is a consortium of Interfaith / Religious organisations, CSO's and other non- State actors in Africa enhancing and promoting the objectives and activities in Africa.

The Institute for Development and Leadership in Africa, (IDEA for Africa) convened a special engagement session with selected Media and Civil Society Organizations from Kenya on 30th May, 2023 at the Monarch Hotel, Nairobi. The engagement was themed around Africa’s encounters with various types of emergencies, such as the recent Horn of Africa drought as well as other environmental extremes, some of which are triggered by the reality of Climate Change. The engagement was organized in collaboration with various partners and intended as a kick-off annual programme of engagement with Africa’s CSOs; Media houses and other key stakeholders in creating dialogue and public information forums in furtherance of Africa’s sustainable development.
