Idea For Africa

Good governance, Leadership and Sound economic policies

IDEA

The Institute for Development and Leadership in Africa (IDEA), is a non-governmental African institution devoted to ensuring prosperity and stability in Africa, in line with the African Union’s Agenda 2063. We champion Africa's race towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and are fully subscribed to the values enshrined in Pan-Africanism; sound economic management policies, and good governance for Africa's progress. The IDEA for Africa was originally registered as the Institute for Democracy and Leadership in Africa but has later been re-registered as the Institute for Development and Leadership in Africa. This re-registration and re-branding was intended to allow for a closer focus on Africa’s many glaring developmental challenges; inclusive of, (but not limited to) economic progress; leadership and governance issues; racing towards the achievement of the SADGs, as well as, the glaring existential threat posed to our environment due to the reality of climate change.

The IDEA is affiliated to other organizations and institutions, both locally and globally and we work and collaborate with scholars, governments regional and international institutions and agencies. Overall, IDEA’s vision is to be at the forefront of knowledges, research and training programmes that can take Africa forward through multi-dimensional engagement perspectives that brings on board citizens and other stakeholders.
